Well after having a hell of a time finding the right wire harness we finally got one and put it in. The whole thing went in with absolutely no problems (aside from being sold the wrong wire harness..twice), with all wires hidden away (done fairly easy in this car). After everything was purchased (including the RIGHT harness, mounting kit, shrink tubing and zip ties [some how we didn't have any...]) it was still under 1k CAD, or just under 885USD [at the time], and you have to remember I have to pay sales tax on everything I bought. I think it worked out pretty good.
"External Brain" Receiving unit mounted in trunk: (That white stuff ontop of the unit is the foam packing sleeve that the headunit came in, we used it to stop vibration rattles of metal against metal, I still have to clean it up a bit by cutting some of it out)

My brain is in almost the same place, and it's a Kenwood too.

I like it there.. super easy access and it's still out of the way when using the trunk. And having RCA hook-up's in the trunk + battery = omg simple install of amp

I added a center channel speaker below the unit and now the faceplate rubs slightly when opening and closing. I don't care enough the fix it.

I've thought about getting the Nav.. but I have ZERO use for it in my city, and if I go on a trip my dad has a Garmin GPS unit that he got as a reward from his company.. so yah...lol
Though I wanna try to find a way to rig up a web camera as a reverse camera.. oh so much cheaper.. and there has to be a way...lol

all depends on the connection to the brain. i wanna get a unit like that and have a front view camera... i think that'd be badass going down the road and very useful for pulling into parking spots :D

The Merc's have IR going out the front.. fucking sweet as hell.
I BELIEVE my reverse cam is RCA.. but I can't verify that until I actually go look at it.
