Doesn't happen all the time, has only happened twice. The first time I hit the "menu" button the remote and *snap* back to good it went. The second time, I had to shut off the TV, wait for the "click" of all power being gone, then turn it on and it was all good.

It's something to do with the HDMI. I'm assuming you have your HDMI cable connected to that? I have an off brand TV here in Korea that does that every so often on HDMI only. All my other connections work as advertised. It's possible it could be blamed on a subpar HDMI cable, so if you paid good money for yours prove that to them and make them look elsewhere. Sharp Aquos TV's are real good sets. There should be no reason for it to do that.

Might possibly be the DVD player too. Since the only HDMI connection I have is my DVD player, that could be suspect as well.

i doubt this because as you can see the lines are in front of the menus on the TV. on some A/V forums some techs have said it's the LCD board. I've got a tech sched'd to come out Thurs so hopefully he'll just replace stuff based on my pictures if he can't get it to reproduce.

That's something in video signal processing going bunk on the board Brandon, getting a tech was the right call, unless you wanted to crack it open yourself. :)

well keep us informed of what went bad, cuz like I said....mine does it every once in awhile. Wasn't too super worried though cuz it's a disposable type TV

my gpa is/was a tv repair dude for Zenith back in the day - i sent him an e-mail w/ the photos and he got ahold of one of his tech buddies still in the biz. Said the same thing that it's the LCD board and that they call these TVs "throw aways" now

am supposed to be getting a tech out to my house in the near future. until then no i don't know what's going on. it hasn't done it since the last time (:freak:) but i still dont' want to have it happen and get stuck like that - cuz that would suck.

Sorry I'm so late to reply, but I think the TV is broken.
