Forum feature/change requests

Jay, what protocol do you use? WAP I assume? or is it a pocket PC that's able to browse "normal" sites but the shoutbox just doesn't show up for ya

Is there anyway you can set the feature in "New Posts" when you hover over a thread title it will preview the post? it does it when you're in an a specific forum but not under the "New Posts" area. Thanks meng! :)

Just a thought...but i kinda like how 6s has it...when you log in the header that says Eaton Inside has a picture of a car...it used to rotate with pictures that are in the galleries. So in that case anyone who put their photos on the site would see their car every so often up there.

And maybe a members ride/progress section. That would be kinda cool.

Other than that Id have to start thinking.

member's ride / progress section i would say is your Ride and Blog page on your profile ;)

the other part, well, hm. i may have to learn PHP after all :)

Yeah...i know the blog and what not...but I was thinking like a new part of the forum. So people dont have to go and click on the profile just to see your car and read up on the progress. But I do understand what you mean.

Got something good... going to post on RLF as a good upgrade too. Let me know if it can be done. Go here... http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/ and click the search button. You'll notice its a vbulletin forum, with a search NASIOC using google option that WORKS AMAZINGLY!!!!!!!!

i've been using google to search RLF for a while now... just put in "site:domain.com <search criteria>" as the search and voila :D
also, boo for having to be registered to search a forum.

Makes searches SOOOOOO much better. I also pm'd NR. Lets see how long it takes for RLF to get that feature. And you can search any site with that script?? For instance "site: eatoninside.com slow qc" and it'll search/find your car?? I'll have to try that out.

yes, but no space after the : in site: ... not sure if that matters but that's what i do.

at any rate, liked a lot of the other things the author of the google one did so just added the following:
new type of alert popup for private messages
smiley popup in the quick reply windw
enhanced PM listing, shows a preview of the PM in your listing
unread announcement highlighting
easy-unsubscribe of a thread via the thread listings pagei'm considering one more, a mod to the view of the userCP page, but am not sure about it just yet.

anybody know of other websites that have good information on eaton blowers and/or applications? vB has the ability to "pull" (via RSS feeds) info from these sites and it may be something to drum up a larger crowd.

you can circumvent the time limit by checking the box acknowleding that you realize you're posting way past the last post.

however. the mods monitor posting activity which appears to be solely to gain access to the parts of the board for 10+post users.

Request: Is there a way to make it where when I click on the "New Posts" that the Adult posts don't show up? Either a way for me alone to do it to my profile or make it a forum change if everyone votes for it. Thanks.
