Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum but not to supercharging, have an l67 3800 at home with an eaton m90 gen 3 ontop.
Wonder what the best way to block the silencer ports were and what benefits it had (it is meant to be more efficient).
I dont want shit entering my intake, so does any1 make plugs for it or anything?
cheers
Nick

Not really. It adds very little efficiency, most people do it for the sound (the slots are only there to quiet the supercharger). If you want to see some gains from the 3800 you'd be smart to look into one of the intercooler setups for it. Check out ZZPerformance.com and Intense-Racing.com for some ideas about parts.

totally agreed. the 3800 s/c never came with an intercooler setup... just imagine the gains you could get from it...

skip the intercooler and go straight to some meth injection :rocker:

ahah im not new to modifying the l67.... i can work well on the car, learning more as i go.
I was just curious if anyone had info on the silencer ports over here.
Also, with the intercooling, i'm a student, so i will wait till i get some cash, but i need an lsd 1st, rear end just spins 1 wheel with 170rwkw or there abouts ahaha.
here are some pics of the car and engine bay (aussie RWD l67 ;))

filling the silencer ports makes no power just slightly more noise its needed when you weld port inlet side and do vee work as the smily face opening changes rotor opening timing and total seal duration I do many mods to m90s and m112s
i mostly work on tbird supercoupes at sccoa.com

Well i wont bother then.
How much luck have you guys had with welding new inlets on? AS you can see our m90 has a horrid u-bend on the back of the charger

yeah eaton says not to do alot of things ,
I weld cut and reshape m90s of all varieties every day no warpage not distortion use a mig not tig keep welds short let cool between welds AND it wont warp .
I have a buddy with a much modified m90 on a supercoupe tbird that runs 9:70s in 1/4 mile making over 600 hp if he did it eatons way he would make 230 hp
