Well my bumper has suffered the effects of being a lowered car in the hands of a driver who has never had one before. :ack:

Because of this there were some cracks in the front ground effects as a result of hanging it up on curbs while backing out, scraping while coming in, etc. Also, I removed the front license plate & bracket a while back, but never the 3 screws that were put in to hold them. I took those out and filled the holes while I was in the process of repairing the cracks in the bumper.

Pictures & details can be found here (http://jenniferandbrandon.bc3tech.net/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=65533). Enjoy! Post questions up here if you've got 'em. Keep checking that album for updated pix as I finish 'er up, too.

Well I had put a few coats of paint on, took off the tape, and realized it's not even close to matching
So, back to the drawing board, but at least the bumper's not cracked :)

I'm curious to see if/how the repair makes it thru the cold winter :ack:

Did you try to fade it in or did you paint the whole bumper and hood?

i'm not sure what the razzi is - but it's likely urethane. i patched it w/ the patch kit that i have a picture of in that gallery album i linked in the original post, idiot. :freak:
Did you try to fade it in or did you paint the whole bumper and hood?i'm going to get some rubbing compound i think and try to fade it in now. i think my mistake was that i taped off just the areas that i sanded, so i wasn't painting my bumper, just the little square i fixed. if i hadn't have done that it'd have turned out a lot better i think.

oh well, live and learn. I'll be fixing it all up this weekend then taking pictures. i should take some now so y'all can see what not to do - maybe i'll do that tonite.

Well good luck. At this point, if I were you, I'd make a how to of taking the whole bumper off. Even fading that is going to be difficult if the paint isn't exactly the same mix. Just tear that sucker off and repaint the whole thing!

that would be an option except... if the paint don't match now, it's not gonna match the rest of the car either ... so yeah - paint the whole bumper & look like a ricer. :freak:

i'll figure something out. there IS a site that has the exact match for my paint but they want $30+ for a 12.5oz spray can, and i got a 6oz spray for $6 at the local store... was worth the experimentation, esp if it works. there is another store that has more silvers in stock, may try them out. but it's like i told another guy. if i don't get anything to match, it's nothing to sand the painted parts off, buy the right stuff for $30+, and paint it again.

I was assuming you were going to get the correct paint regardless if you faded or painted the whole bumper...

Damn BC's on a roll today. Spend some time with 'Boose learning how to hit 'em below the belt or what? I think he stole 'Boose's mojo. He's not his usual self on here.
