Hey guys, I know we have a few people here now and I just wanted to tap into the newfound knowledge and opinions that the site has gained.

Do any of y'all have any good ideas on what we could do to attract more of a diverse crowd of Eaton enthusiasts? I'm open to suggestions on anything, esp if there's something you'd like to see on the site that isn't here right now.

Hack in to RLForums and set an auto redirect to this site. :)

Decals. As soon as I get Illustrator back on this computer, I'm going to have a few decal designs available at cost.

With that in mind, BC... see if you can hunt down an e-commerce package that integrates w/ VB so we can sell schwag.

I've seen a few forums that allow flash in the signatures. You can do a redirect that works miracles. I did that to streetracersonline.com for quite some time.

We could also use more technical articles. Tuning FI vehicles, supercharger specs, etc. So if anyone has something, PM either BC or myself.

we should all start digging for tech atricles and whatnot on eatons, and post em up here.

we need decals, like small maybe 3" cheap ones, that we could go to car meets with, like cobra meets, cobalt meets, cavy meets, even rsx meets, and give these decals to people with eatons and whatnot.

also, once we do get a bit more of a user base going, we need to get some supporting vendors type forums, maybe stegmier, eaton, and companies that sell parts for cars that run eatons... even if they dont want to pay a "fee" b/c not many peeps are here, maybe give these "supporting vendor" fourms away to the companys at first. I mean what are they gonna say "no we dont want free advertising on your forum" LOL

thats all i can think of off the top of my head right now, but ill give it some more thought today.

I'd say post something up (if you're allowed to advertise one forum on another) in the M62, M90 or even the M112 communities. That, along with technical articles (i.e. specs on each blower) and tuning (from beginner level to advanced) articles would be good.

i like both of these ideas. i'm not sure if/when i'd have time to carry them out myself, but if somebody'd like to volunteer i'll give 'em the user title of "EatonInside Evangelist" :D

I've got an "in" on decals. It'd be near impossible to beat my price, so don't worry about that. Just FWD me some designs if you've got 'em.

anybody like The Matrix? I made a rear window decal for my SC1 that was the name of my fraternity and copied that font nearly exactly.... could do something like that for "EatonInside.com" if ppl are interested.

Well... seems like the guy I use won't be able to make decals until the end of Oct, so if anyone else has a supplier, let me know.

If you put a link to this site in your sig on other sites, not only will it help draw attention, but Google may pick up on the large number of link-backs we receive and increase our ranking.

make it friendlier to post.

conversations tend to be just that, threads here tend to be just that, conversations between 2 or three people. And being unable to post to threads older than 20 days (even when I have something that actually add) makes it almost impossible to get to anywhere interesting, such as the arcade.

no such thing as 'come for games, stay for the chat' on this site.

Painting yourselves into a corner from this newbie's point of view.

I understand that you want people to contribute before getting the perks, but i'd be willing to bet that most potential long-termers get frustrated and move on long before the 10 post minimum for even basic stuff (myself included)...

bc3tech
November 18th, 2007, 7:38pm
interesting POV. however, please note that you can post in old threads, you just have to check that box saying you acknowledge the thread's old - just something as a "heads up, you're digging up an old one!" kinda thing.

as far as the arcade requiring 10 posts goes, the motivation for that was mainly that we want the substance of this site to grow, not ppl registering and never posting, just coming over for the games. y'know? so once the site gets more substance and information, i foresee this limit going away.
