Hi,

I'm new to this forum and I am driving Honda Civic that should be soon supercharged.

Recently I bought second-hand SC from Ebay (Eaton M62 from 3.8 Buick), and I dismantled it in attempt to do complete rebuild and some modifications - so I also bought full gasket & bearing rebuild kit, but unfortunately two thin oil seals behind gears weren't included...so right now I'm stucked with dismantled blower and all new parts except these two oil seals - it seems that these 2 seals aren't standard items as I couldn't find them in my local SKF store ...so my question is - where can I buy these oil seals online?

Tnx, it would be great if you could find some vendors!

Yesterday I was browsing through SKF online catalogue, comparing standard radial seal dimensions & CAD drawings but I couldn't find exact radial oil seals...though I found some very similar...hm, I would really like to avoid unnecessary machining on SC aluminum bearing plate...

P.S.
Yes, I am really from Croatia, why are you asking?

I am slightly suspecting that I'm only member from Croatia on this forum, ha, ha !

I am slightly suspecting that I'm only member from Croatia on this forum, ha, ha !it's likely you are. as normally IP addresses mapping back to countries other than england, australia, US, etc end up being spammers. So I map the IPs of every new member to catch them before they start.

had you not posted this w/in 24hr of when you registered, it's likely you'd have been banned too :)
but of course you'd have had the option to contact us through the form on the site and get unbanned. So far I've yet to be wrong, though :)

I'm still working on finding somebody that may have what u need.

2 Cat Ion:

Yesterday "Rolling performance" replied to my e-mail:

"I don't have these seals. They are special from Eaton.
I have seals that will work but it will require that the bore be machined to accept 35mm seal.
If you can have this done at a machine shop then I can help.
Thanks
Chris"

Hm, if I couldn't find exact seals , and if that 35mm seals are really suitable for this application, I'll maybe try that option...

2 bc3tech:

Unfortunately I don't have part numbers - there are no signs/part numbers/manufacturer logos on seals...I do have pics, if that can help I can upload them and give you some dimensions.

What's interesting, one seal is bigger then another - it has larger outer diameter, but all other dimensions (thickness & ID) seems the same ...it's hard to measure precisely ID as seals were damaged badly during removal (they were Loctited in its place).

Have you tried contacting Stiegmeier? Since they are an authorized eaton rebuilder? Stiegemeier Supercharger Porting, Rebuild, and Repair (http://www.stiegemeier.com/home.html)

Hm, after dozen of e-mails that I sent to various SC repairing companies & various manufacturers, practically I still didn't get any usable answer about replacement seals...so I searched again for possible substitutes - I went through SKF online catalogue one more time and finally found something that could be used:

http://www.skf.com/skf/productcatalogue/Forwarder?action=PPP&lang=en&imperial=false&windowName=null&perfid=703315&prodid=703315022

This is 35mm OD, 22mm ID seal, with 7mm thickness - lip material is Viton, and this seal is suitable to 200° C, and to speeds up to 15000 RPM.

Only thing that concerns me is pressure differential - it's good up to 10.15 psi, but I think that should be OK.

Anyway, I already ordered 2 SKF oil seals, and I will install them very soon...then I will discover a whole new world of aligning rotors, adjusting rotor timing and checking all SC clearances :boohoo:
