I actually need to get my own copy someday! I have some thoughts plowing through my tiny brain about different paint schemes for the RL. I love the blue, but I want to customize it to a totally personal level. I've heard of some people applying paint colors to a photo of their cars making them look like they were in fact repainted. That's what my question starts at. What are the color limitations for Photoshop? I want to keep the metallic look, but I want to overlay some other colors in pearlescent or ghost images. Not sure how else to describe it. Can that be done with photoshop or am I chasing windmills here?

pretty much anything can be done w/ photoshop... i don't know shit about it tho - i've seen some crazy chops of guys "repainting" their cars w/ the software tho.

You can make just about any color, shade and effect.

http://www.carbodydesign.com/tutorials/software-tutorials.php?app=Photoshop

Those are tutorials as to what you can do [and that is only a sample of the automotive tutorials out there]. Plus the program is near limitless as to what you can do if you have enough time to learn everything.

All these tutorials are wonderful, but I don't have the program to begin with. Anyone got a pirate copy or something or a link to where I can get a good, clean copy with no malware loaded behind the scenes?.....and fully functional?

Well photoshop is quite the large file. Kind of hard to e-mail it to someone. If we only knew someone that had an ftp site, hmmmm.

Torrents work well, specially for high-demand files. Really no need for ftp site for a high-demand file.

Just saying that maybe some people have .iso's of programs that other people want, etc. We could use your ftp like a shareware site.

well it won't be this site's ftp. i'm seeing if my current hosting allows me to have multiple ftp accounts right now - i'll keep you updated.

Yah, if I could get a download from an ftp site, I could toy with the colors a bit and see if my ideas look good or not.

This is what I have done in about 35 minutes of playing around [ya I know the text is near the same in both.. text I find is the hardest part as you can't hide imperfections]

Photo's sig [he is using an old draft on RLF.. and if I can get the font they used for their logo I can make it much better]:

Or just legally buy it at the student discount price of 60 bucks for CS3 Extended :).. and I only paid half as they are allowed to put them on 2 computers..muahahahaha Best 30 bucks ever spent...lol

And that guide doesn't cover CS3 [which has new, fucked up menu's...rofl] and it is just simple basic stuff. I like doing things like reflective text, crazy blending, etc which I knew how to do in PS6.0 but didn't really do any of it in CS2 so I never really re-learned it... sigh...lol
