About a year ago a friend at RD Fabs tempted me with a header concept for Cavaliers/Sunfires with the Eaton MP62 supercharger kit. Well during the year the friend ended up parting out everything for his cavalier and the project died. Ever since my friend told me about it i wanted one. Well about a month ago i finally had the time and money to get up to the shop. And this is what they created: (The exhaust manifold in the pics is the stock 2.2L Ecotec)

The primaries are 2"OD(available in 1.5" too) and 12" long(#4 is 10.5 due to clearance issues). It is 100% 304 Stainless Steel, tig/purge welded, and the one pictured has a 3" collector.

This header also requires a little bit of work to install, possibly less as we weren't able to get my PCM out of the way which may have helped tremendously. However, in order for us to get it to fit into my car, we had to unbolt the upper motor mount, front transmission mount (5 speed) and let the motor drop roughly 3-4"s and then back the subframe bolts down ~2"s so the collector V-band flange would clear over the steering rack. Now mind you, one can always unbolt the steering rack and move it out of the way but we found it easier on our life to just drop the subframe down a couple inches. Then where they shift cables come through the firewall, there is a metal plate which sticks out 3/4" from the actual firewall we had to make flush with the rest of the firewall to allow clearance for the v-band clamp to fit. Doing this has no negative effects.

I also put down 219whp on a Dynojet with these other mods:
* Eaton M62 S/C
* Nate's 3.1" pulley
* GM Stage 2 belt
* OTT Dualpass endplate
* Cobra heat exhanger
* LSJ injectors
* "Custom" intake w/ K&N filter
* GM Reflash
* NGK LTR6IX-11 spark plugs
* RKsport spark plug springs
* RKsport upper and lower engine mounts
* TTR solid tranny mounts
* RD Fabs 2" primary long tube header
* Full 3" Atomic exhaust

The cat retains its stock location under the car.

It is listed on their website for anyone whose wallet needs to go on a diet. From day one it was intended to be a production item.

It was test fitted on a Cobalt SS/SC before it was finished welded and was designed with high powered S/C builds where 1.75" primaries are not enough.

I do have a complete engine build in the works with planned Harrop HTV1320 to replace the M62. The last thing i wanted was for my exhaust to be a restriction. BTW the built wont be done until 2011.

I don't know the 2.2 exhaust setup but on the 2.0 the cat is almost immediately after the manifold on the down pipe.

Here is the down pipe, the cat would go where the maggy muffler "resonator" is.

So on Cavs/Sunfires it stays in the stock location and in Cobalts/Ions it would have to be relocated.

Yes, i am not running a cat.
