Like the title says. Hit print screen. Paste it in ps, paint etc. Host it somewhere like here or photobucket or something. Then put picture here.
You can explain also if you feel like it.

Hey a slow point O that turns both wheels at the same time!!! That's unnatural!
I can't show my work desktop. It's got military stuff on it. I'd show you but then I'd have to send you a copy of the movie "The Ring" so you'd die in 7 days.....or something like that.

You rotate the cube halfway, and hit screencap.
Here's a youtube video of the newest version of Compiz/Beryl/Fusion desktop:

Ok, allow me to rephrase. How do I get a screen shot of MY desktop? I trip ctrl - printscreen and nothing.

if you have windows...and a desktop you should only have to hit the print screen button. The paste it in paint or whatever your preference is. Then use it like a regular picture.

I know this is a way old thread. Finally figured out that Function lock on the keyboard has to be active to make printscreen work.

In Linux, you can have a few different desktops. The two main ones are Gnome and KDE. That last screenshot is what Gnome looks like, and KDE looks a little more like Windows.
Beryl is an add-on that adds special effects, like wobbly windows, the rotating desktop cube, water effects, etc. Beryl will work on top of either desktop, it just adds the effects.
That screenshot is Gnome's desktop, and Beryl is running but you can't see any of the effects in that shot. The little desktop widgets are part of the desktop.
I really need to make a video screen capture to show you what I'm talking about. Maybe in a day or two I'll get around to it.

coulda sworn you did a capture of the cube already for this thread (or somewhere else maybe)

I linked to some youtube videos, but I haven't done one of my own desktop yet. Some of the effects are just eye candy (like the water ripples) and some you actually can use, like the switcher and scale plugins. There's a way to capture video of it, not sure how well it'll come out. I'll give it a shot.

Curious why the drivers hi beam is removed. I'm sure there's a good reason, just none to me.

Ass! Nice desktop! Must be nice to have the skills to do all that. I know how to play videos on Windows Media Player. I can even pause it when I want to go to the fridge for a beer. So when you rotate the desktop like that, is it a whole new palette or is it the same copy? Meaning if one desktop has all the stuff on it you want and don't want to mess it up can you move over to the other side and open a whole new desktop? It seems you have a pretty strong proc and grafx card.

Ass! Nice desktop!
Thanks! It rocks. All I did was plug the TV-out on that computer to the capture card input on another one, and hit record... I added titles and music and uploaded to Youtube as-is.
The computer cost about $300 total for parts, not including the custom case I built and put it in. The graphics card was about $35. I've run this 3D desktop setup on a 550Mhz Pentium 3 with a $20 graphics card, and everything worked except the water ripples (have to have a card with pixel shaders for that).
Microsoft and the hardware manufacturers have people fooled into thinking you have to have high-end hardware to have this kind of desktop experience... but you don't. This is proof.

I love this place, but the reality is, I could never sell my parts as quickly as I have on the shortbus.
Speaking of parts....maybe I should start a thread.
