Just like the title says..........

Have a small whine in the amps, nothing toooo bad

But when I connected the XM radio, it was SCREAMING..........

Had to go out and get some line filters, I checked all my grounds, and RCA connections, there was no problems, just ground loops........which sucks

Did you route any stereo wires alongside a body harness? That'll usually cause that.

I was getting some of that too, i just got some upgraded rca cables, a 30 buck upgrade, not a whine at all.

Better RCA's definately help, also make dure that the ground in your RCA cable is not internally broke. I have seen that before as well. Good luck!

I have good cables, none of them have grounds though, the worst cable was only 3 feet long. I did everything to remove the whine, nothing worked, except a line filter, its installed and no whine.

Come on man! There is a cause for every effect. That is no way to think. The only thing that causes ground loop is the noise having nowhere to go. Where is the road-block. Remember when you are on different inputs, the other imputs have crosstalk, meaning the screech will be quieter than when you are on the input with the problem.

I bet you head unit is bad. If a system is wired properly, there is never a reason for ground noise. Even that bullshit about running wires in the wrong spots. I wish I was there to troubleshoot. I have eliminated DOZENS of ground loops, and it is never due to random shit, just blatent baddities!

Think Science!!!!!! :as-crash::redXdance::cursin::search::coffee::bunny:

Yes I know............the head unit is new

I think the only reason why I had a bad ground loop with the XM unit, is because it doesn't have a proper ground powering it, just a power converter plugged into the cig lighter..........the unit isn't grounded anywhere on the car, and there is no way todo it.

My amp noise is very little, and could be the RCA cables, since these ones aren't new, and I have used them on several cars, unlike the one on the XM radio.

I didn't have any whine until:

1. I installed my XM unit (which is powered by my head unit)
2. I used the 12v outlet to power my iPod's FM transmitter.

ground everything related to the aftermarket audio in one place. i have a small noise here and there, which was produced by the stock radio ground. since then i added an amp and moved the ground wire to the trunk with the rest of them, then added another ground upfront to the chassis.

Actually I found it today, I was getting pissed off, cause I pulled it out last night todo some work, and it got worse, so while the car was running, I pulled out the deck............fiddled around, nothing happened...........but then I removed the stock ground off the deck, and it disappeared. I couldn't believe it, what a simple fix...........although that didn't fix the XM ground loop problem, still needed a filter for that.

Its been close to a year, in the end did the line filter fix all of your problems?
