My brother is coming back from Germany next week. Going to Ft Lewis, WA. He picked up a Mini while there with all the bells and whistles. He says it's twin turbo. He claims he can stomp a mudhole on my car. Not sure what to think. He won't have the car until 22 Jan. By then I'll be in Korea, so I have to wait some time to make him eat crow. By then I could also have my 2.85 pulley and water/meth and a tune. Wish I wasn't so cheap and would fork over the money to get HPTuners at least for my own car and see if Doc can send me one of his killer tunes.

As in you never caught it or you kept on its tail?
It seems my brother is misinformed or there is something afoot in Germany I can't find info on. The '07 and up have twin scroll turbo (singular) that works more efficiently at low end, in ways similar to our supercharger's abilities.

He probably just left the "scroll" part out. Might be a pretty decent run though.

From what I've read on two different sites, it can't keep up. 0-60 in 6.7, 1/4 mile in 15.1, under 200 hp. Now if he upgrades the turbo and massages some John Cooper Works parts into it, he could very well have a run on mine. Then I'd just put on a 2.85 and meth kit and taunt him all night long.

as in he tried to outrun me even on an onramp and the aura kept up... it was great to finally feel the suspension in that thing that everybody talks about... :up_to_som:

 Yah, I might need it! I might have to call upon your expertise for a good tune. I have a local Saturn Tech friend here with HPT. He did some minor tweaking to my AFR. It seems to hold steady at around 11.0 when approaching 4grand. But then it dips to 10.5. Can't get it to stop doing that. I know there's potential for more power if I can get the tune cleaned up. Look at my dyno chart in my picture on here. You might be able to get some understanding of how my car is running.

COT???? Piston protection???? I know he turned off torque management, limited 1st gear boost, and checked for any KR at 11.0 AFR. He said that was perfect (which, strangely enough, surprised him).

cot and piston protect causes fuel to be dumped after a certain rpm. hence your fucked up afr.

Ah, I see. So would that help when he tunes the AFR? Basically are those two features overriding his command to maintain 11.0?

I think you would eat him for one reason and one reason only, and it's called torque. Sonmeone chime in, but really, it's about the ability to make and maintain it unless you running over 110MPH at which point you should be on a track anyway....

Their power to weight ratio beats ours. I've driven them before. I said that from a stop, the mini would smoke a RL off the line hands down. Now, the RL would run it down before second gear was over, but those little things are quick. They are a BLAST to drive.

I might have to trade seats with him one time and see how I can get it moving. I can outdrive him:up_to_som:
