Well right now man, you're in the same boat as the rest of us. the only tuning we have available for the e16a (that's the ECM in all 2.2 Ions prior to 2007) is via piggyback, semi-standalone (greddy emanage) or full standalones (megasquirt, etc)

What are you looking to tune? some good solutions are the
PerfectPower SMT6, PerfetPower Fuel Tuner, GReddy eManage, and Megasquirt 2. There's also a new one coming out from sceptre motorsports that's an "in the box" megasquirt which is something i'm also looking at.

I should add, DC, that you may want to go and vote for tuning for the 2.2L in the following polls:

http://www.sctflash.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7575
http://www.diablosport.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=26&start=30&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=&sid=ffd23cef18571ec5c53316e2bac30828

both of those vendors, SCT and DiabloSport, are strongly considering creating tuning for the 2.2L and are interested in the demand for it and have asked us to create those polls on their sites. SCT has already said they're looking at possibly mid-summer.

My friend has a 2005 cavalier with the 2.2 ecotec in it and HPTuners was able to be used on it. Not sure what the reason was why it could be used but I KNOW it was used. BCP raised the speed cut and also did sumtin TOP SECRET to it. You might want to look into HPTuners.

just thought i'd clarify here that the reason HPT supports the 2.2 on the cavalier is that they run a different ECM. lucky bastards.

Do an LSJ swap in it. :D

if anything i'd swap the 2.4 into it... more displacement, stronger internals, and tunable... not that i've contemplated it before or anything ;)

So what's stopping you from swapping PCMs? A few sensor changes, maybe?

nobody's really dove into it from what i've read. however, if/once the ion's not my DD, i'm going fucking hog wild on the bitch... 2.4 swap w/ the ecm - that'd be the optimal for me anyway

we like to see 10 meaningful or at least on-topic posts. not just spamming the site to get access to our features.

Doesn't GM sell a supercharger kit for the 2.2 now? What PCM does it use? I could've sworn I saw one of those...

'tis only for the Cavi... and has a reflash that accompanies it.
