Well number one ringland went to shit.
Going to tear her down today and see how bad it really is, So if anyone has some stock pistons laying around let me know.

Stock with a zex fifty shot.
$1900 for parts or $2500 for a long block.

Dry or Wet N20 kit?

red2005ss

It was a wet kit.
Well i did a compression test (to lazy to tear it done yet) 1,2,3 were at 160 and 4 was at 70. So what looked like broken ringlands in number 1 was a illusion. Can't find anything really visible, But the car idle's like a suburu and blows the dipstick out other than that it runs and still pull's good even with the nitrous.

it will pull well at WOT. the pressure in the chamber will cause the ring lang to stick where it should. partial and idle will be problems as there is less pressure so it'll get outta spot and start giving you probs. my Ion was the same exact way when i fucked over #2 ringland. WOT was great, but couldn't idle for shit.

ya, when i blew up #4, it kept spitting the dip stick under partial throttle, but it ran wide open just fine... mine idled fine too though LOL. and in fact made 211whp and 219wtq with a cracked piston on the dyno:werd:

Sorry to hear about that. What parts are you replacing for $1900?

piston,rings,main bearings and gaskets

I think i am going to sell the car.
I really dont feel like fixing it.

i had the same thing happen i bought a used motor off someone, then that motor spun the crank pulley and took a chunk out of the crankshaft. so good luck on the rebuild, hopefully better luck than mine

Any thoughts that the zex was the cause of it blowing?

zex's window switches have been the cause of a lot of n2o booms from what i've heard. by any chance were u running one?

hmmm nos on a completely stock car.....Not a good idea. I kind of had the same problem but im my compression was great 180 on all 4 and am thinking its a intake gasket. We will see.

a wet n2o kit, in theory, should never hurt a stock car unless you push it so far as to pass its HP limits, which on the LSJ would be a shitload of nitrous. The fact that you're injecting gas AND n2o keeps the AFR on par so there should be no detonation to cause any problems. plenty of people juice stock cars - they just make the mistake of doing a dry kit and blow shit up big time that way.

Of course, if something is going wrong you have no way of knowing on a totally stock car....

It's not that much more money to add the WB O2 gauge, maybe an oil pressure gauge also, to keep an eye on things.

I have a wideband and it was showing 12.1 At the leanest.
I also hooked up our lm1 wideband and it showed the same thing.
So far it just seems to be the head gasket.
I have one of my mechanics tearing it apart right now, I have to many paint projects right now.
