I've been having a few issues (flutuating idle, a bit of KR) so last night I checked my spark plugs. The gapping had increased considerably. I gapped them at .35 last year and when I checked them last night they were damn near .40. I set them down to about .33 and on the drive in to work this morning I was getting 0 knock. The plugs are the one step colder NGK's (not the iridium ones). Doubt it will fix the idle problem, what mgm told me is called "hunting idle", but we'll see.

sounds like you're actually melting the electrode down a bit....

No, I didn't notice any erosion. Of course I might not have gapped them exactly where I thought I did the first time.

0 knock is a good thing...

why don't you post that excellent camera phone pic I had to try and look at?

Electrode is worn down on far right one. Much shorter in the pic than the rest. Could just be the pic. So that's what I'm going off of. Plus, not quite the clearest possible pic either.

have you thought about using iridium plugs no gapping

Not sure if it's coincedence but I got about 1.5mpg better on my latest tank of gas, after I regapped the plugs. I'm usually around 23.5mpg and this time I was at 25.1mpg. No codes yet either.
