Wideband should be here tomorrow...not sure when I'll install it though - hopefully this weekend. Maybe I'll get a wild hair up my ass after work, who knows?
Got some logs to get before I do anything though - yay!

Now that I've got a setup as well, I'm going to be bugging the crap out of you, MGM... I want to learn how to do this!

its not hard, just takes time to dedicate...dedicate to logging and making changes, then logging and making more changes.

any of you guys using an LC-1? I typically use my PLX, but also got an LC-1...just can't get it to work right. Not sure if it is the serial to USB cable we were using or what?
So far, got all the wires like they should, free-air calibration, now what? I think this is where I am confused. Do I need to set the offsets through the programmer (logworks) or do I just take care of that through a PID in HPT?

I've used both LC-1 and LM-1, although I was never able to get the LC-1 to work 100%...so, I'm giving it another go now that I think I'm smarter about that stuff.
You'll most definitely need to set the offsets in LogWorks programmer - that wasn't terribly difficult, although I can't remember the specifics of how to do that. There's a bunch of stuff on the HPT Forums about it though.
Doc's right about the time factor - and in a perfect world, it's not just about driving around town, but driving in the right conditions. Loading the engine by going up/down hills, stop/go, cruising at different speeds, a few "legal" pulls here and there. It's really involved, for the sake of hitting as many cells as your can and really nailing down the tune.

Ahh, I'll stick to my stage 2 tune. I've got too much other crap to worry about, don't need to worry about my car too. Not to mention I'm a big ol vag when it comes to tuning.

I'll blame that damn serial/usb connector I set you up with :mofo:

Philly938 did my LC-1 install. Worked like a champ after I replaced the gauge. Failed at first. Troubleshot down to a faulty gauge. Replaced it and it's worked great ever since. I can't remember if he used logworks to do the initial cal or if he went straight to HPT to set it up.

hmmm...your right photo I blame that damn cable as well.
We are not running with a gauge so I can rule that one out :) really just trying to figure out if cal has to be through logworks or through HPT for setup.

we did the free air cal but its the actual offset cal that we had problems with

offset cal? on the lc-1? i didn't read/do such a thing on mine....

interesting...so what am I doing wrong then???
Received LC-1, opened box, wired up LED and push-button switch, did free air cal. Tried to plug into serial/usb connector to laptop, but ended up crashing my laptop. (Thanks photo!) Still worked through input on HPT but the readings were off. Reading 9.2 at idle on a stock untouched car, at cruising, AF read 11.2.
What am I missing?

ok maybe i misunderstood... "offset cal" is particular to HPT i'm guessing? if not, i'd say that HPT's the problem here, and that your sensor and everything is just fine and calibrated. HPT just needs a kick in the head :)
i had my LC-1 hooked into an XD16 gauge, so never had to do an "offset" calibration.
although i do have to wonder why you're seeing a leaner AFR at cruising than at idle... should be the same (or were in my car anyway) unless you're pushing boost at idle and not at cruise

the offset is definitely an HPT thing...it has to do with centering or aligning the idle AFR to where it should be in the HPT Scanner. The XD-16 doesn't require any such tweaking.

ok so it sounds like i have to do nothing with logworks or the stupid serial to usb connector to laptop. Since i can log through HPT, I'll just set the calibration up that way and be done with it.

alright, LC-1 is in and working! Just ran out of time to really dial in the offsets before leaving for Pike's Peak.
I'll finish that part up tomorrow...w00t!

Fuck that - I'm done with the LC-1...swapped sensors, finally, b/c I'd been getting an error cable claiming bad sensor or cable. Well, brand new fucking sensor, and the error code was still there - so, fuck it...pulled the whole damn setup and I'm shopping for alternatives.
I don't care how accurate the damn Innovate shit is, if it's not reliable, it ain't worth shit.
I'm thinking about the PLX setups...

Had mine for nearly 2 yrs with zero problems. Maybe you got a bum one.

I'm getting ready to RMA my LC-1 and see what the fuck they want to do with it, it will not calibrate.

I think the RME crew out here is going to pick up the new LM-2...so it can be easily swapped out from car-to-car for tuning.
We used the LM-1 in FL, and it worked pretty well...
I'm convinced there's some issues with the SUPER sensitive wiring within the LC-1...I'm not good with "johnny electron", so I can't explain it, but I've read about A LOT of failures for no apparent reason.

I'm in between emails with innovate right now. I just don't want the fucking thing anymore and I wont sell it to someone else knowing that I couldnt get it to work.
