Has anyone bought any of their stuff or known anyone who did? I'm seriously considering getting both the trunklid and the hood when I get home in January. I'm not sure if I wanna stay with the standard color or get the blue weave they offer. I'm super skeptical about buying something this pricey and have it travel such a long distance for me to not be impressed with their quality control. I can expect to see some minor issues since it's custom made, but I don't want bad fitment issues or a poor topcoat that needs to be redone every so often to maintain its appearance. I just wanna be able to add the hood latch and bolt it on. Same for the trunk, I wanna be able to slide the lock cylinder in(or add an internal release mechanism) and bolt it to the hinges. I really would be set to buy from them if they offered an aero wing CF center section.

Inputs, please........oh and would anyone know if it's reinforced like a factory hood with a skeleton or is it just a flat panel?

I bought a hood from them, but have yet to receive it. It's supposed to have the hood latch on it and come ready to bolt up according to Joe from Xcelerated. I'll take some pictures for you when it gets here. As for the trunk, it's only the panel where the wing bolts up to, they don't make the entire trunk CF.

Yah, I would greatly appreciate some pics when installing and finalized if you don't mind. The pic of the trunk on their site appears like a complete lid. Can you ellaborate on the trunk panel you refer to? Do you mean it's just the outer skin? I emailed them with no replay yet.

Oh, by the way.....is your hood fiberglass underneath for the supports or metal? I was hoping there was as little metal as possible to lighten the load. I mean the car is already plastic skinning except for the roof and both lids. If I could eliminate all that weight too, I think it could help a bit.

Well, I'm not really sure what the support is made of. I think it's a fiberglass support with a CF skin over it. I'll know more in detail when I receive it, it just shipped on Friday.

As for the trunk. If you look at your trunk there is two parts or skins. The first one is where the wing mounts. It goes from the outer part where the wing sits to the inside of the other skin. The other skin is where the license plate mounts to. The only one they sell is the one where the wing mounts. They do not make a complete replacement like they do for cobalts. Hope that helps.

got it! Wish they did a complete trunk lid. Good way to reduce weight.

You could always ask, never hurts. Here is a link to the thread that has Xcelerated concepts e-mail as well as the guy's who actually do the CF.

Yah, I just got in touch with Joe. He answered all my questions, but he led me to believe it's a complete trunk lid. Since there's a conflict here, I asked to clarify for me if it's just the back section or the complete lid. I also pushed one more time to see if they can consider the aero center section for a carbon replacement. That would be truly sweet looking on my blue to have the front and back in all carbon. Shed some weight a bit too!

I would love to have the center section of the wing CF'd. So did he clarify about the trunk lid? Is it just the lid or the entire trunk?

He said it is the entire trunk. What I needed to put on it though, was the plastic surround for the license plate. Since I don't have my car here to reference, I'm a bit confused. But either way he said it is whole. Maybe you should also let him know about the center section of the aero wing. I mentioned it to him again and he said it costs too much to make a mould for only one person. Maybe if we could get a few made, he might invest some time into it.

Also, I bet the CF center section wouldn't lift like the plastic one does on bumps and high speed traveling......mine bucks all over the place!

I'm going to have to take a look at my car. Last I looked, the plastic surround for the license plate was the entire back part of the trunk lid.

Well he responded saying that they don't make the wing insert. I asked how many people we would need interested to get it made. I know molds are expensive, but if we get enough people in maybe we can get a deal?

Well, there's 3 of us so far, given the right cost. I wonder what he would say?

I'm waiting to hear back from him, then I'll make a "feeler" thread on here and RLF.

I would LOVE to see them make a C/F piece for the back of the decklid where the license plate goes, WITH a small wing built into it sticking back from the rear! That would be SWEEEET!:facelick:
