Hello all. Most of you probably know me as watts-up on other forums. Finally got around to checking this place out, very nice, looks GREAT! I see lots of familiar friends here.

Thanks for the interest in the subframe rails. I have had these on my car for a few years and really love them, as everyone else who has them does. I have had a lot of people asking about these lately, and finally talked the guys at U-RaceCars into letting me set up a group buy to get the price down. The reasons why they can offer the large discount is that if we get enough people, they can get a really nice discount on the expensive 4130 Chromoly tubing. It's the same stuff that top fuel,pro mod, pro stock... and almost every professional race car is constructed with. It's very strong and light weight... Also another reason they can do it for less is, if they do a big batch all at once, it will save on labor and down shop time. There shop isn't very big, and they always have a line of cars waiting to get in, so to stop working on building a complete $50K+ chassis to build a set of frame connectors is not cost effective for them. Hopefully we can get enough people so we can fill a whole bay in the shop with frame rails, and everyone can get these awesome traction devices for a great price!

I just posted the list this morning and I am pleasantly surprised at how fast it's filling up in such a short time! If you want in, but only at the maximum discount of $250, just go ahead and put your name on the list, and add (20+ discount) or (15+discount)... next to your name.Then we will be able to see how many people have the same stipulation and we will be able to get the #'s to get there.

Awesome, almost there! :hungry:If they get 30-40, I think they might be hiring more fabricators! Hahaha. As soon as we get to 20 people, then they will need a $50 deposit to buy the materials, then they'll go ahead and build 'em. Then when they receive payment, get them all shipped out. If anyone wants, they can just pay in one payment instead of making a deposit, I just wanted to give this as an option.

It would be much easier and appreciated if full payments could be made all at once. I understand some people don't have it all right away, that's okay to make a deposit to get them made and ready for your payment.

Everyone here just works on cars, so we don't have a secretary who can take care of the finances and stuff...

I would love to see it drop lower, but the guys in the shop won't do it. It was really hard to get them down to 250. The next price break in chromoly would come at a quantity where they would need to sell like 60 sets, and it would only make it a few bucks cheaper.

I'm going to work now at the body shop, and I should be back at URC this afternoon to take more payments and help out over there.

:thumbup: Good news for the cobalt people! We installed the 1st set in a cobalt today. As we suspected, the procedure is identical to the Ion. We will have well documented installation instructions with pictures up in the How to section in a couple of days.

Install went pretty good, with the exception of a few rain showers.:umbrella:

We bolted them in. I plan on welding them in sometime soon though. Thanks for asking because it brings up a great point. Well, 2 points.
First off, you don't want these painted. Two reasons, the first, if you wanted to weld them, you'd have to sand off the paint to weld. The second, It won't match your car (I know its underneath). My car is yellow underneath and I have these two huge black rods. My suggestion is to leave these the way they come and paint them yourself. If you have undercoating, you can spray some more on once the bars are in place. If you're going to weld them, then you can paint them your color of choice after they are installed.

I was joking that we were gonna make a 24K gold plated set for Bill BT LOL.

I'm very satisfied with the bars and how they turned out. I just wanted to make it known its better to keep the bars unpainted. That way, its up to the customer to customize them to suit.

Hello all, those who have already paid in full should be receiving your orders this week. Be careful when you unwrap them that you are sure to get the hardware. It's in a bag taped to the front of the subframe connectors where the bend is. I just didn't want anyone to throw it away by accident.

Please post up here when you have received your order so I can mark it off on the list. I had to paint a few more sets, so those are on the way too, then everyone who has paid should be caught up. Everyone else, we have your orders ready to ship as soon as payment is made. Anyone not on the list who still wants in, you can add your name still.

Well, glad they made it anyway. I know you'll love your car even more with them installed. Hey come to think of it, we sold another set to another guy out there named Scott Herbert, don't know if you know of him, but maybe you guys could get together and help each other out on the install, it's much easier with 2 people... He's a cool guy, very serious about his road racing. He only uses his RL for racing, and the only time it gets driven on the street is on the way to the track!

Yes, you will be the 1st to 100% weld without bolting them in at all. That should be super strong, and will also contribute greatly to the structrual integrity of the car if you ever get T-Boned in an accident, so it might just save your life!:thinkerg:
