I just installed this shifter in my RL a couple days ago. I wanted a Hurst (just because it looks better IMO) but didn't want all the problems it came with. So I went B&M. I'm glad I did. Only took about 45 mins to install and adjust. The directions are perfect.....it's like installation for...

This is a very easy install. I did my install in the driveway with basic hand tools. The only thing I would suggest is to not follow the instructions when it says to disconnect the linkage where it says to. You might end up having to make adjustments to get it to shift properly. I just pryed the socket off the ball joint. When I was ready to install the housing back onto the floorboard, before I bolted it down, I put a sizeable socket under the joint to be used to press against to reattach the socket to the shifter ball joint. Once it was attached, I removed the socket and bolted the assembly back down to the floor. Worked as advertised. Smooth, purposeful feeling shifts, reverse gate works just like stock. Well made product!!!!

+1 i agree. much better feeling than stock.
only problem i had was adjusting the brackets on the linkage cables, but that's because i was rushing and didn't mark it properly. shifter was so far forward in 1,3,5 gears i couldn't get my taco bell fruitista freeze in there
but we're good now!!

That's why I dosconnected at the ball joint instead of where the instructions said to disconnect. It kept the original shift pattern limits. I'm happy where it's at.
